About
Hypnosis Motivation Counseling and Education Company Stuart Hellebrand, M.S., C.Ht.
As a hypnotherapist, I serve clients who reside in La Quinta, Palm Desert, Indio, Rancho Mirage, Indian Wells, Palm Springs, and neighboring cities. My priority is to create a therapeutic atmosphere that promotes growth and positive change in the shortest period of time that is professionally responsible.
Hypnotherapy is a process that can help you to achieve your goals and objectives with surprisingly little resistance. With this in mind, I look forward to working with you to addresses the goals and objectives that you seek to achieve.
My Hypnotherapy Approach
I use a variety of approaches to address each clients unique needs. At the same time, guided imagery is central to my work with most clients.
To best understand my approach, consider that the state of hypnosis provides access to the same subconscious mind that creates the visual images that appear in dreams. In short, the language of the subconscious mind is a language of visual images. By contrast, the language of conscious mind is a language primarily involving words. Herein lies the difference hypnotherapy and traditional counseling.
Through hypnotherapy, you visualize yourself as having already accomplished your goals. The off spin is that you feel accomplished and encouraged to continue acting out your new behavior. Another way to view this process is to see it as involving a software patch being downloaded to your behavioral operating system.
When a client in a hypnotic state visualizes himself or herself acting out a new behavior, a paradigm shift begins to tale hold. It takes surprisingly little time for the new desirable behavior to replace the former undesirable behavior. The answer as to “why” is simple. We humans gravitate toward pleasure while striving to avoid pain. We strive to achieve success while attempting to avoid failure.
Drawing from a client’s Life History Questionnaire, our conversations, and a list of the client’s goals and objectives, I write prose that take the form of ‘waking dreams’. While in a state of hypnosis, I guide a client to visualize himself or herself acting out the successful achievement of a goal. This begins the change process in a powerful way. In short, I am downloading a software patch to my client’s behavioral operating system by having them see themselves succeeding at performing a goal. Considering that the subconscious does not function using logic or reasoning, the ‘waking dream’ functions as the software patch to change.
There is a growing body of research that supports the practice of mindfulness in hypnotherapy. Neuroscience research reveals individuals that practice these techniques are happier, more resilient, and better equipped to release self defeating memories from the past.
It will be my honor and my mission to help you move past what’s blocking you from reaching your full potential personally, professionally, and in your relationships.
